Excellent full featured city stroller
June 2, 2023
So sad this was discontinued. This works so well for us. Our primary need for the stroller was a very narrow fold due to storage constraints. We also wanted it to be lightweight. This stroller has a fantastic rear facing fold, only 11" inches and fully compact when folded in the rear facing position. We used it with the bassinet, which was great. I agree with others that call it a knockoff Bee6, because thats what it looks and feels like, but it seems like it is better in some ways. We were able to attach the glider board and I didn't have any issues clicking the canopy closed.
Pros
  • Narrow rear facing fold
  • Lies flat
  • Glider board attaches
Best Uses

Cons
  • Hard to buy belly bar

It’s okay for a one and only stroller but there’s definitely better.

Folds a lot bigger than a compact stroller, we’re used to our most compact which is the mountain buggy nano and we love that thing. It’s also a lot heavier than a travel stroller, if this is your only stroller it’s not bad but I’ve got others that I prefer over this and it didn’t trump any unfortunately.

Pros
  • Many options for seating facing forward or parent facing or full recline good size basket and easy to maneuver. Folds with seat facing either way. And comes with the travel bag.
Best Uses
  • Any child as it reclines all the way and faces both directions.

Not what I expected from the brand.
December 29, 2021
I purchased this stroller for travel. I came back to the brand since I loved my first stroller for my first born a few years back. Unfortunately I'm not in love with the stroller and it's features. Unfolding and folding the stroller is a hassle, the sun shade comes undone everytime. The belly bar is great, but not so great when trying to get my toddler in and out of the stroller. My husband don't care for this stroller at all. The positives on the stroller are the wheels are great, the spacious compartment at the bottom is definitely a plus. As well as how small the stroller folds down. I wanted to love this stroller but...it isn't what I expected.

Love the concept of rear or forward facing BUT
October 14, 2021
I've only had this a couple weeks and there are so many floors. The sunshade doesn't stay in the holes and has to be fixed constantly. The sunshade doesn't stay down and it too has to be fixed constantly. To unfold this is a pain! It never opens right and is too heavy to fool with. Also, why didn't it come with the belly bar if it's a "LUX" model? Something to spend more money on I suppose. I'm disappointed to say the least.

Do not get
August 27, 2021
I really don't like it. in the picture it looks like the seat is deeper. It is very shallow. I feel like she is sitting on a lawn chair. The leg rest has nothing for the feet to touch and my 10 month old is dangling off it. I really want to return it but they said I have to pay for shipping and this thing is heavy. I wish I didn't buy it offline.

Any solution for the hood?

Hi Baby Jogger Team,
Do you have any solution for the hood of tour LUX? I'm ready to buy something extra if you say that will fix the hood from falling.

July 19, 2021
I have been meaning to write this review for a while. I own my stroller since 2018. I used it for one child and before the child even turned one the brake broke. It was stuck and cannot be used. Also the handle is very wobbly. Once the child got older (about 10/11 months), it became hard to push.

Terrible stroller

I love baby jogger however am very disappointed with this product. The sun shade is terrible and is way too narrow for my little one. I thought this would be a nice lightweight stroller option.

Ugh
March 5, 2021
Before purchasing this stroller I researched A LOT for an affordable and practical stroller. This checked all the boxes. I LOVED it with the bassinet option. Then it was time to switch to the seat. I have a 7 month old AND a 4 year old. The shade is horrible. It's winter and I keep a plastic cover on to protect baby from wind and rain BUT the shade comes down and the plastic ends up in her face! I thought the replacement hood they sent would solve the problem but it did not. When turning the seat forward for my toddler, I folded the stroller to get on the bus. When getting off I realized the stroller was stuck. IT WOULD NOT UNFOLD. In addition using a caddy is not an option.Rear facing I have to maneuver or remove the caddy to fold the seat down.

Great parent-facing Stroller
July 4, 2020
We were on the hunt for a parent-facing stroller for our 4 month old, and this was a nice compromise between cost and comfort. If you don't have a money limit, moving up to the City Select is recommended, but for the price this was great. Rolls well, but could be better with bigger wheels. Folding is nice when parent facing, but there are many steps. Overall it's a nice, light stroller for our LO.

So disappointed
May 24, 2020
I was given this pram a month ago and I have been so disappointed. It is so difficult to unfold and as others have said the sun shade does not stay in place when reclined to any degree making it useless for use in Australia. The hand break is also ridiculously hard to operate. I was so excited when I got this pram but it has been a huge disappointment.

Love this stroller
February 29, 2020
I've had this for a little over a month now and use it everyday. So light and well made. The canopy issue was an easy fix. I just pulled the zipper so it sat in front of the seat pad. That gave it more room so it wasn't pulled so tight and to give more slack I undid the side buckles of the canopy and tada no more issue and canopy is still secured. Such a nice stroller.

November 10, 2019
Absolutely love the tri fold! A little difficult at the beginning to fold/unfold. Get a hang of it after a few tries. The handle is a little lose when pushing, not the greatest (Stroller is only a few days old) Canopy does not stay in place at all. Great design minus the technology to make it stay. Annoyed so far. No child tray is available for purchase to fit. Annoyed yet again. Love Baby Jogger but this stroller is a bit skimpy.

Poor Canopy, do NOT recommend with glider board.
September 25, 2019
I bought this because it i needed a smaller more compact stroller than the city select, with the option to still use the glider board for my 3 year old.

First the canopy is useless when in any recline position. It's flimsy and doesn't stay "up" which causes child to be exposed to sun, while whoever is pushing is constantly having to reposition the canopy so the child is shaded.

My biggest problem is that it's advertised that it's comparable with the glider. While you can basically FORCE the glider board on, the piece of the basket that wraps around the bar and the basket itself is in the way. The basket doesn't sit right over the clips on the glider. Overtime the metal wire in basket will probably become warped and the fabric work out where the clips sit. Taking it in and off is also a pain and overtime will also cause wear that you wouldn't have if it could stay on the stroller.... which is another problem. You CANT fold the stroller up with the board still attached. Who wants to take the glider board on and off every time you use the stroller, especially when it's so difficult to get on and off and maneuver around the basket. Had I known this I wouldn't have gotten this stroller. I got it for ease of use because the city select is so bulky and awkward, and it's more difficult to travel with.

Overall the stroller is ok, but feels "cheap" compared to other models.

For the money, just go with the city select.... it's definitely a nicer stroller with less issues that will meet your needs better if you're wanted a glider board, canopies that stay in place, and overall a better quality stroller for the price.

August 27, 2019
I was very confident in your company's products, so I purchased the city tour lux. However since I am using the stroller I am having several problems;
The hood doesn't cover properly. Once the child is in the stroller it's very heavy and hard to weal (my baby weighs 27 lb)
I can't enjoy the stroller and try not to use it

Fantastic travel stroller
August 23, 2019
This is a perfect light weight travel stroller. Just used it for the first time and while traveling through an airport. It was easy enough to fold up I did it one handed while holding my 15 month old to get it through security. I have had no issues with the canopy falling down. It is a bit flimsy, but for how compact it is I would t expect it to be as sturdy as my city select lux.it also fold up easily into the travel bag and we carried it right onto the plane and put in the over head! Highly recommend

Horrible stroller
August 1, 2019
Purchased this stroller under the impression that it would fit our family's needs. The unfolding part of the stroller is not easy, two hands needed. I have had my toddler run off on me while I have struggled trying to unfold this stroller. The hand break is just so difficult. I also need two hands for that! I cannot believe that this is considered a "lux" line. The canopy is constantly falling down exposing my son in the heat, even after I lock it in place, it falls down right away. I am very disappointed that I spent a good amount of money on this stroller and do not recommend it to anyone.

Maneuvers great; canopy issue is real
June 10, 2019
I've had this stroller for a couple of weeks now and am relatively happy with it so far. It maneuvers surprisingly well for such a compact stroller and folds up well, so we're more inclined to bring it along with us. My Chicco Bravo travel system stroller was bulky and my 9-mo-old babe had outgrown the infant car seat but still feels too small to face the world all the time, so a smaller stroller that had the option for her to face us was perfect. I read a lot of reviews and really researched before I bought this stroller and saw the complaints about the canopy. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but it does suck. It does not stay open when the stroller is leaned back even a little bit. However, there are some easy fixes when in parent-facing (there's a little loop in part of the fabric on the top of the canopy and I just looped a cord through there and attached it to the handle of the stroller. Not sure what the fix would be if facing outward though. At any rate, pretty good stroller option if parent-facing and compact are important to you. But, it's not perfect. I'm still relatively new to this parenting game, but I've heard the search for the perfect stroller is never-ending!

Huge Disappointment
April 20, 2019
I purchased this stroller because I genuinely believed it would be a high quality convenient stroller. I love the Baby Jogger brand and jumped at the chance to purchase it as soon as I could.

Unfortunately, there are a few deal breakers:

The visor comes down EVERY SINGLE time I use it. It wakes up my child and is just an overall irritation.

The worst issue is unfolding it. I have watched countless Youtube vids on repeat that try to make it seem simple - there is no way that this stroller can be set up with one hand. It's awkward and frustrating.

My husband refuses to even use it and would rather carry our child around the mall, it frustrates him that much,

So annoying
April 4, 2019
We bought this stroller over in Singapore about 9 months ago and, despite buying it for the lay-flat feature, we cannot use it for anything except the fully upright position. Just like so many of the other reviews have mentioned, the sunshade/canopy clicks out of place if it's in the slightly and fully reclined positions, and proceeds to fall down, rendering it useless. So I can't use it for our baby to sleep in. If this design flaw was fixed...even if there was some sort of hack that I could engineer...then it would be my perfect stroller. Please, if anyone has a way to fix this I would greatly appreciate any help!! Otherwise I'm going to have to rethink my loyalty to the brand!

We bought this stroller because it was the only one that the seat could flip around, recline and still be under American Airlines weight limit. I wish I could give it five stars but the opening especially is really complicated. People try to help you and you have to (politely) say no thank you because you have to know exactly what you are doing or it ends up all mangled up.

Nice features disappointed with attachments
February 20, 2019
I bought this stroller because I already have baby jogger city elite jogging stroller and some attachments. I was between the uppababy minu and this one, the city tour lux is heavier but my decision to get it was the seat remove capability and attachments. I already have the bassinet, car seat attachment and the glider, the only thing I can use is the glider with this stroller. It is stupid that I would need to purchase all new accessories when I already have all this baby jogger accessories that will fit the city elite, the summit and the gts. It only won't work on the city tour lux, it is not very budget friendly or space friendly that I would need to purchase all new accessories.

Nice size but bad suncover, nuisance straps
February 4, 2019
I have had this nearly one year and want to love it. The size and foldability is great. I like this brand, the color is nice and the bassinet was small, buy did the trick when dealing with an infant. However, it's a pain when they get beyond 4 months old. The seat is narrow, and the hood will not stay put no matter what I try! The straps keep slipping out when I try to buckle so adds some frustration to getting baby all settled in. I do appreciate how foldable it is but it clunks along the pavement, making for not a comfortable ride outside of sleek airports floors.

Almost perfect!
January 17, 2019
My ten month old son has mainly used the stroller caddy for his infant seat so far, but we have used our City Tour Lux a few times for longer outings. I love absolutely everything about it except for the sunshade. It's pretty much impossible to keep up if the stroller is reclined which is fine for indoor outings, but not so much when you are outside. I may try to see if there is anything I can do to remedy it. We also have the City Mini GT which I think will be getting more use.

hood!
October 24, 2018
so i read the reviewed regarding the hood of the stroller and was sure that baby jogger would have perfected it. but no! it is every bit annoying as ppl write. the carriage itself if beautiful and well made, though it is hard to actually push that 40 pounder in it even if they fit the weight requirements. the material is nice and the basket is really large. but yes the hood is a major issue it flaps down and looks like it is broken even when open, it is way too flimsy and doesn't end up looking at all like the pictures. which is a shame, personally i would prefer if the carriage weighed 1 pound more and the hood was of better quality.

Wanted to Love but just couldnt
August 28, 2018
I already have the city select double stroller and i loved it but barely used it. I wanted a small compact stroller for everyday use and After all my research i decided to buy this stroller, I did buy it when it first came out so there was not many reviews.
The pros about this is a reversible seat and the storage basket have plenty of space. There is a full recline which was a major reason why I purchased it Also i can attach the city select glider on it for my toddler. It strolls over any terrain pretty well, a little more complicated over grassy area but that is a given.

The cons is too over whelming that i could not love it. The folding and opening is so much work! If i have the baby in my arms it is such a hassle to get this stroller to open because it requires so many steps and it is not light enough to just pop it open. Having carpal tunnel from pregnancies makes this such a struggle and I am just so disappointed i am stuck with this as an every day stroller now.
The sunshade always seem to fall back and does not stay put! I an constantly pulling the shade back in place to keep the sun out of the baby's face.
When the seat is in upright position i feel my baby keeps slouching it look uncomfortable.

It comes with a storage bag and I do think it does fold into a very compact size but it is hard to push the chair flat all other accessories comes seperately .

Great Concept, but quality needs refinement
August 4, 2018
I bought the City Tour LUX along with the foldable pram. After extensive research this seemed to have all the required features at the reasonable price point, reversible seat, easy folding mechanism, ease of maneuverability, ease of recline, quality of fabric... After a couple months, overall it is a good working stroller with a few features that need refinement. Here are some of the negatives...

1. The canopy sunshade doesn't stay locked in place while fully extended. The locking mechanism is very sensitive and unlatches easily due to bumps in the road or there is too much tension on the canopy when extended. It would also be nice is there were detents at multiple positions on the canopy instead of only at full extension.

2. Rear wheel falls off easily if the front wheels catch the unlocking mechanism, if I hadn't notice the clang of the wheel hitting the ground then I would have been left with a three wheeled unusable stroller during the middle of the day.

3. While the stroller can freely stand when folded up, it easily falls over, could be better balanced.

4. Shoulder strap is a good idea, but it is slight short and the strap , especially the shoulder pad could be more substantial.

5. The rubber grips on the handlebar aren't the most comfortable, a bit hard and the texture can use some improvement. Also the grip will twist in your hand.

Overall it is a good system, but need some improvement to be a 5 star product.

Not quite the jack of all trades that I was expecting
July 24, 2018
The concept of this stroller is amazing. I love the idea of the light weight reversible seat, the large basket for a travel stroller, the hand brake rather than foot break, the giant canopy, and adjustable harness that enables a 5 point or 3 point harness depending on the size and preference of the child. I love the idea of the belly bar. The low star rating is because this stroller is only good in theory.

Starting at the top of the list. Yes, the seat reverses, but depending on which way you fold it, the seat either gets trapped when folded ( good thing) or, just the frame locks, and the seat freely swings out as you lift it into your trunk ( bad!)

The basket is good. It's sturdy and deep and easy to access. Easier to access when the child is parent facing. I also love the zipper pocket. No complaints here.

The handbrake is INCREDIBLY stiff. I have actually panicked a couple of times when I couldn't unlock the wheels, because the only unlocking is done via a button, rather than a lever. You need to have a very strong thumb! Great concept, awful in practice. Also, my child can reach the lever when parent facing, and randomly lock the wheels while we're strolling. Would have been better to put it out of reach of a child, maybe?

The canopy is large, but flimsy and looks like it just got rescued from the jaws of a trash compactor. It also falls backwards towards the seat, as the seat reclines. It only really works when the seat is upright, since gravity holds it down, unfortunately gravity pulls it in the opposite direction and your child who is laying flat, and probably trying to sleep, gets blasted with bright sunlight unexpectedly. I have pushed the stroller with my stomach while holding the canopy taut over his body. Not a good look.

The harness is very finicky. The one on my stroller has one side that snaps in quite nicely, and the other side doesn't snap at all, meaning I have to hold the top portion of the shoulder strap in the groove of the waist strap while inserting it into the buckle. My child loves riding in the stroller so we don't have too many issues with him squirming, but it takes the same finesse as putting on a necklace clasp, you have to line it up just so, otherwise it all crumbles in your hand and you have to find the pieces to click together again. I know baby jogger can do better, the clasp on the GT is amazing, they know how to make this concept work, so why cheap out on this new concept?

The belly bar is only useful when the child is sitting upright. If you recline the seat, the belly bar hits the child at the knees, sometimes literally. I have to remove the belly bar when my child is sleeping, hold the canopy over his body, and push with one hand. This stroller does not have good one handed maneuverability at ALL. It feels very heavy. My child is barely 25 lbs, I really don't know how a 45 lb child can ride in this if this is how it feels now. I am so disappointed!

  • Mesh peeka-boo instead of plastic

Breaks with minimal use (maybe mfc defect)

Had it for 3 months (used only 4times) One of the hinges where seat snaps on is loose and moves back and forth causing the seat to tilt back and forth from one side. I also notice when the seat is in lay flat position it needs a couple of tries to place it back in sitting position because it doesn't click into place causing the seat to fall back to lay flat position. I think it has to do with the hinge not working properly. Also the canopy keeps clicking out place. Very dissapointed

Love this stroller, but...
July 20, 2018
I was really excited to buy this stroller when it came out. I loved the idea of having my child face me and the compactness of it folding up since I travel a lot by myself with my little one.

Pros - super easy to fold up, like the front facing of the seat and that it can fully recline down,

Cons - whether the stroller seat is up or down, the canopy is constantly falling down no matter what I am constantly having to pull it back up to cover my little one. The front wheels keep locking on their own which makes it difficult to steer the stroller and I have to constantly unlock them. The stroller is difficult to unfold, it always takes me multiple attempts to get it unfolded and snapped into place.

Over all this is a great stroller, but would definitely recommend for those three items to be fixed.

A design dud...

I was so excited to get this stroller after intensive research on the best compact strollers. Unfortunately, I had to return the first one because the handle grips were not secure, and like many other reviewers, the canopy kept falling down. Under the warranty, babyjogger sent me a new stroller. We have the exact same issues. The canopy does click into place, but immediately unclicks and the canopy flops down. If so many people are reporting this problem, why isn't it being fixed? Especially at this price point, the "lux" stroller should feel luxurious, not cheap. I am going to have to return the stroller because it is not fit for purpose. I am incredibly disappointed.

Love the options but the sunshade!!!!
June 30, 2018
I bought this stroller mainly because I loved how it's compact AND that the seat can face forwards or back. It's not the lightest but it doesn't take up very much room which is great. the straps are very comfortable for my baby girl and it seems very comfortable. I do find it a bit difficult to open the stroller but it's manageable. The most disappointing thing is the stupid sun shade. when my child is reclined all the way back the shade keeps falling and I have to keep putting it back into place every few seconds in order to ensure my baby won't wake up. It is literally infuriating. PLEASE MAKE A FIX FOR THIS.
