Well-designed and attractive bouncer

I received this to review. This is the first bouncer I've owned, as I didn't see the point of bouncers with my first child. With my second child, now that the classic Rock & Play has been recalled, we have this and a borrowed Fisher-Price snugapuppy bouncer in our house, plus several other baby-holding devices. This bouncer is my favorite aesthetically but my least favorite practically. First, I find that my newborn slides down, even when buckled, and get the sense that he doesn't like the sensation. He generally shrieks after just 3-5'minutes in the bouncer. For comparison, he has napped a full 1.5 hours (supervised) in the Fisher-Price bouncer while my toddler and I play loudly in his playroom. Second, I've tried the bouncer as a toddler seat as advertised and just don't get how it works. My toddler ends up fully reclined and confused. If there were a way to turn off the bouncing function, so that my newborn doesn't slide downward with every bounce, I think it would work well for us. I'd also cut it some slack if it could be used at table/counter-height without a separate high chair, because that would be incredibly convenient in our kitchen. I think we will grow to like this and plan to keep using it, because once our baby is bigger the sliding will be less pronounced.
