7 month old really enjoys this musical chicken

Although recommended age is 12 months, my 7 mo. old granddaughter derives much happiness from this toy. She has no trouble clacking the wings, and while her ability to "correctly" hold the "drum sticks" is not refined, she can hold them and is able to "play" the xylophone, notches, and brass cymbal; and she likes gnawing on them too (no teeth yet). She is also able to shake the tail rattle which can function independently from the chicken.
Pros
- The musical chicken is well built, sturdy, very attractive and cute. Baby liked it right away. Chicken has four stable "feet" but is able to rock forward and backwards, which gives the baby more positions to "play" it. Is an attractive and efficient wooden toy. I suspect this chicken will provide baby with happy times for years to come. Was able to purchase on sale from Albee, and its is totally worth the $40.
Cons
- drum sticks would seem safer if they had a soft cover on the end tips.
