Great Maneuverability and Ample Storage
April 11, 2022
Recently purchased the Donkey 5 as expecting 2nd child with an almost 3 yr old who still enjoys being strolled around. While I was hesitant to purchase a side by side stroller as I thought it would be bulky and difficult to maneuver in an urban environment (narrow/uneven sidewalks, lack of curbs, etc.) while being of a shorter frame, the Donkey 5 has proven so far to be very easy to stroll around, and doesn't feel too bulky though I have yet to push two kiddos around in it.
Pros
  • When in mono configuration, there is ample storage, and I find the side luggage basket to be very convenient to store toddler's water bottle, toys, etc. The underseat basket will also come in handy when in duo configuration as I'll still have a space to throw the diaper bag, etc. Two main reasons we decided on the Donkey 5 versus other double strollers was the loss of storage space in double stroller configuration (like the Nuna Demi Grow) as well as the awkwardness of pushing a longer stroller (UPPABaby Vista) for someone just over 5'. It's a breeze to stroll around so far, and I'm very impressed with how easy it is to push around and uphill.
Cons
  • Adjusting the handle height can be a bit fussy at first as well as mastering the expansion to duo configuration. I also think it would be helpful if Bugaboo could add a clip to secure the stroller closed (like with our previous Nuna Tavo) when in folded configuration as I find that when trying to stand it upright when folded, the wheels cause the stroller to slightly unfold so that it requires more space to store (not ideal when you have a small space and you don't want to remove the wheels). I can store it on it's side to prevent this from happening, but I think this problem could be resolved if a clip was added to lock the stroller closed.
